conclusion
I have learned from researching this industry that the skill of communication is a necessity. Much of this job involves sharing drafts and ideas with editors, publishers, and clients. There are many steps/stages to actually completing a book. So, you need to be good at socializing and knowing how to communicate effectively with others. Another important skill you need for this job is working with other people. I also learned that as a children’s illustrator, you need to be very aware of what this industry is looking for; you must have an excellent wide knowledge of things such as what children like to see and what style is most suited. It’s not as easy as you think being an illustrator. Not as simple as I thought.

From my discoveries, I can conclude that being a children’s illustrator can be very fun. In this field, you can let your imagination run free and wild; creativity is required for this. But It can be a challenging job, especially starting out. Being an illustrator is something I’m interested in doing once I’m finished with my education. As well as the creativity you can explore, what really appeals to me is the freelance side, being able to work from home.

As an illustrator myself, this research made me realize how important children’s books are. In a world where children as young as 2 are being given technology, we need books to keep children occupied in a more healthy way. Because technology should not really be given to young children. Not only are books important in this way but they teach children so much such as loving yourself, feeling like you belong and learning how to grow friendships. Colourful images are the perfect way for children to enjoy that process. They are very visual people.
